  1. Tony,
Congratulations on having your hard work acknowledged in print! I never realized all you and Michelle have been though in gathering your fleet of AR campers. I’m sure everyone would agree that you win the prize for the most dedicated AR owner!!! Truly outstanding restoration – thanks for keeping the AR legacy alive.

    1. Hi Carol!
So nice to hear from you! 😊
Thank you (once again) for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed the article. Aren’t the AR campers fun? I’d still love to see your amazing time capsule AR. I do hope we can all get together for a meetup one day. That would be a blast.

      Take care!

    2. Carol, we have an American Road Camper owner and enthusiast group on Facebook. Please connect with us and share stories and photos. We would love to enjoy them.

  2. Great story Tony. I had heard most of it from in person but it is even funnier in the article that you wrote. I am sure it wasn’t funny then as you said but when you look back it hilarious. Enjoyed reading it. I have my truck tore down to the chassis. Painting the chassis and underside of the cab now. Made up all new stainless break lines and fuel lines. Installed new cab mounts. The truck had no rust.

    1. Hi Paul!

I was going to holler at you but you beat me to the punch! I’m glad to hear you’re moving forward on your F350. What a nice truck it will be when you finish. I do know it will be an awesome example, having seen your work. We can’t wait for you to get the truck and camper together. Michelle and I will have to meet you guys somewhere between here and there. Won’t that be a hoot!
Send pics as your project progresses! 👍

  3. That’s Really Great, thanks for the efforts and dedication to this fine piece of Ford History. The article is great, and, all the work is worth it for all who’ve appreciated this Camper, and its history. Congratulations again. Having your Camper restoration Published is great.

    1. Thank you, Warren!
We appreciate your comments! The journey hasn’t been the easiest, but it has been fun and rewarding. It’s nice to know we’re not alone in our appreciation of these campers.

      All the best,

  4. Congratulations Tony! I just the article in Truck Camper Magazine and was so pleased to read it. You have made an incredibly important contribution to the preservation of Americana. I’m hoping this article will lead to more discoveries of these campers and that those with similar skill will restore them. Perhaps most of all I’m glad you are actually going to enjoy some trips in the camper in the near future with your good and supportive wife. You need to enjoy what you have worked so tirelessly to recreate. All the best!

    1. Hi Fred!
It’s great to hear from you! You’ve been a super supporter and have given me encouragement since the beginning of this endeavor. I truly appreciate you!
The whole reason behind wanting to do the article was not about tooting my own horn, but rather to create AR awareness with the hope that others would help preserve the campers that remain. I’ve received some very encouraging feedback so far indicating that there really are a lot of fans of the AR out there. Angela of Truck Camper Magazine has been wonderful to work with. She put a tremendous amount of effort into the article and was so patient. We first discussed doing this over 2 years ago.
Anyway, I am rambling. Thank you again, and I do hope we can meet up one of these days!

      Best regards,

  5. Tony!

    Awesome, Inspirational, Admirable, Accomplished, Envious……..

Did I read American Road Camper Round up?……. I dare you! 🙂

    1. Hi Frank!

You, like Fred, have been so supportive throughout this project. It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one who thinks these old campers are worth the effort. 😊
I’d LOVE to have a roundup at some point. Any thoughts on where would be a great place to meet up? I may throw this out there on the site soon and see how many people might be willing to participate. It would be fun to make this a reality.

Thank you for your kind words, as always!

    2. Frank, we have a Facebook group

PS. I hope this is Frank from Canada with the green super cab which I love! And if it is we definitely need more photos!
