Adding a porch light

I decided to use a 73 Ford pickup cargo light. Not only is it a very effective lamp for this purpose, but it looks as though it has always been there.
I wasn’t sure where the switch (also a 1973 Ford part) should be located and as luck would have it, I cut a hole only to discover a clearance problem with the fiberglass shower enclosure on the other side. I needed to space it away from the wall using a household switchplate. Not thrilled with the results, and will add this to the rework-when-I-have-time list. The most difficult part was fishing the wiring through the walls. I tapped into the ceiling light for power.
It will be nice to not have to fumble with a flashlight in the dark. I’m not sure why they left this feature off when they built it?
